Concrete, glass and swindling views

This fantastic single residential villa of 608 m² located in Cape Town, South Africa, was completed by Saota Architects in 2012. The project team of SAOTA ZA Head 1818 was led by  Philip Olmesdahl, Stefan Antoni & Mark Bullivant who made a great effort when combining the raw concrete, thick walls, and grey tones with an airy atmosphere, bright glass and soft furnishings.

This complex concrete box looks hard and industrial on the outside, but once you step inside you are welcomed by a diverse, inspiring and surprising space. The villa lies on a hill which gives it an amazing view. An infinity pool stretches along the side of the terrace, which is easily accessed through most rooms by folding glass doors.

The interior is contemporary, with a neutral and warm tone on all furniture. The artworks used are colourful and wild and draws attention to the many details on the concrete walls. Interesting angles between windows, ceilings and floors create a lively blend in the space. Inspiring!
