Destination: Archi Walks in Paris

When spring is around the corner my thoughts go to the many sunny memories I have from Paris. I found some images from my trip there last year and thought I would share them with you. So for those of you who appreciate the beautiful facades of Paris, as well as a good walk with a cup of coffee; here are my top places in Paris to go architecture watching with a take away Café au Lait.

Le Louvre & Tuileries

Metro Station: Louvre – Rivoli

Start at the East side of the Louvre to admire the ornamented and column filled facade. Beautiful!

Continue through the building into the inner courtyards to admire the classic architecture, contemporary pop up exhibitions and of course the glass pyramides.

How beautiful the water of the ponds reflect on the facades of the historic Louvre.

Then continue to Jardin des Tuileries for a relaxing break in the sun chairs while watching this stunning arch. It’s also a great spot for people watching.

École Militaire & the Eiffel Tower

Metro Station: École Militaire

My preferred way to visit the Eiffel Tower is to go to the metro station École Militaire, enjoy a lunch at the corner café and then walk into the Eiffel Park. You have plenty of time to finish your coffee on the long walk through the park up to the monument.

Le Marais

Metro Station: Saint Paul

In Marais you can enjoy hours of walking, going to cafés and watching the busy street life. But I personally thinks it’s the calmer little squares that are the best places to enjoy architecture, and coffee breaks.

This one is a favourite! Jardin d’Hotel de Sully is a little oasis off the busy Rue Rivoli. Stop by here, if you can find the narrow entrance.

Found this cutie on a Marais street and he deserves a feature as well.

Place de Vosges is perfect for picnics.

Musée des Archives Nationales has a beautiful courtyard connecting to a little park. How stunning are these columns?

This is simply art.

Hope you enjoyed this blog feature about architecture spots in Paris for spring weather.
