Gaud Installation

This installation was part of the Pratt Institute’s Graduate Architecture & Urban Design exhibition in the Hazel and Robert H. Siegel Gallery.

The large hanging artistic installation with custom laser cut panels fastened in strings shapes a wild ocean of colours and refelctions. The panels are made to create a different pattern, experience and colour scheme when you move around it and since it’s held in position by invisible strings and a CNC cut disc, the visitor has to take initiative to truly and fully experience the artwork. The volume of the piece is majestic, and would be an impressive ceiling decoration in any large room. The artwork was made by a large design team led by professor Michael Szivos of design studio SOFTlab, specializing in contemporary installations.
