Örnberget: Quirky & Fresh

Örnberget: Quirky & Fresh

Örnberget, a contemporary villa in Stockholm’s inner archipelago, was completed in 2016 by Petra Gipp Arkitektur. They designed it to create interesting mixed areas of shade and sun, and to give the building’s outdoor spaces a quirky layout. The wood and concrete mix gives it a stunning freshness when lit up by the sun, and a cooling effect when in the shadow. The surroundings are best seen from the open living room with its panorama windows and high ceiling. The garden consists of trees and large stone hills, typical for the archipelago area. In this environment a lot of time is spent outdoors and that’s why we in one of the outer walls find a fireplace for cold evenings. Örnberget is a great example of how one wall can create mirroring effects on the inside and outside of a building.
