La Manzanera Part II: Xanadú

There comes a time for every architect to think outside the box, and with that in mind, Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura went all in on a very boxy project.  These apartment blocks of a development called La Manzanera, located outside Alicante in Spain, turned out like magical candy piles taken from a dream. In our last article you could read about the famous star of the project: La Muralla Roja. In this article we’re going to focus on the sidekick which with its adorable green shapes does not disappoint. We present: Xanadú. The project is an experiment with cubes and draws its inspiration from castles, which probably is the reason this building seems like a place “where time stops and the magic never ends”, as stated in the trailer of 1980’s movie Xanadu.  To say that Xanadú is the lesser of the two Architerior can’t accept, it absolutely has its own charm.  Just take a look at this amazing house!
